.Moody in Maine.

This year Quinn and I were unable to go to Maine with his family. It is just too much to travel with a newborn. First of all I would not fly with him cause I would hate to be that person on the plane that has the annoying screaming baby and driving is just way too much! BUTTTT Silas recieved a souviener from our favorite breakfast joint in Maine, Moody's Diner. Enjoy the pictures below!

.Happy Birthday Quinn.

Happy Birthday Quinn!
So today was Quinn's 28th birthday! This morning I made a delicious breakfast of french toast, sausage and eggs! YUMMMMY!!! :) Unfortunately Quinn would not leave the office at all today because he was working on his dern website he has been making for the construction company. It is coming along great and looks amazing. Adobe Go Live! is the shiiiiitttt for those of you trying to create your own website ;).
I surprised Quinn with some alone time by dropping Silas off with my parents and taking him to see Transformers 2! Great movie! Way better than the first one and obviously there will be a third! Then we went to one of his favorite restaurants, Black Pelican, for a few beers and some dinner! We were going to let Silas stay the night at my parents but we decided to just go pick him up because we are obsessed with him and can not stand to be away from him. Haha! Overall Quinn had a great birthday and that's all that matters! :)

.Silas Update.

Today we went to Silas' two month check up and he now weighs 12lbs 12oz. He also got 3 shots for his vaccinations today and I was surprised at how well he took it. Which was better than me ;). I felt so bad watching him get those shots and his little face light up like, "What the !&#*!!!!!" but as soon as mommy picked him up, there were no more tears! His doctor was amazed at how "chatty" he is. Yes I said chatty! Which is true. He talks up a storm and looovveessss it when we talk back in his language. He is full of smiles and giggles which I must say is the cutest thing. It is hilarious when he is sleeping and he starts laughing in his sleep! I wish I knew what it is he is dreaming about....probably the boob or the bottle, but really who knows!

We bought Silas one of those baby "gyms" and he loves to lay on that thing and stare up at the fan and all the little things that hang from the arches of the gym. There is a mirror that can connect to one of the arches and I catch him staring at himself and it is just the funniest thing. The other day he was sound asleep in his swing and all of a sudden we heard a fart that seriously went on for a 10-15 seconds and we're just sitting there laughing wondering how such a long and big fart can come out of something so small and poor Silas it scared the crap out him. He jumped and woke up and started crying! I know it sounds sad because he started crying but really, when you think about it in your head to see a little baby have a fart so big that it scares him and wakes him up, its kind of funny!

Silas has also got quite a nose on him. He can be asleep or playing on his gym then whole time I am cooking food but as soon as it is time for us to eat he must be held or be near us so we started putting him in his highchair next to us when we eat. At first he was a little hesitant but now he just loves it. He likes to be up there like a big boy!

Overall, Silas is doing great and growing like a weed! We are almost out of Newborn clothes and into the 0-3 and even some 3-6 month stuff! Keep checking back for updates!

.Happy Fathers Day.

Starting on Friday Silas and I tried to do a little arts and crafts project for Quinn's first fathers day. My initial plan was to make a mold of Silas' hands using a recipe that I have where you mix boiling salt water and flour together to make the "clay" then you press your hands into the "clay" and bake for 3 hours. Yeah, that did NOT work at all. First Silas would press his hands into it but then he would grasp the "clay" and mess up the mold of his hand. Once I finally got a somewhat good mold going and baked the dern thing for 3 hours, it did not turn out right at all. I was so upset! So then I went to the wonderful Wally-World and got a hand mold kit. Same thing. Every time I put his hands into the mixture he would start grabbing at it rather than just leaving his hand flat and making the hand print. After re-doing the hand dipping process like five times the plaster dried up and the kit was done-so :(. By this time I was getting PISSED! So I went to Wally-World, AGAIN, and got yet another kit but this time I was smart enough not to do Silas' hands. We did his feet!!! Much better idea with a 2 month old. Although the finished project did not look that great because Silas was wiggling it is still the thought that counts I suppose.

.A Sunday Morning Tragedy.

President Obama said it all when he said, "However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence."
I believe a woman should have the right to choose if she wants to keep her child or not. Abortion is a personal choice that every woman should have the right to. I am not saying that every time you pop up pregnant that this should be your run to answer if the pregnancy was not planned but if you were raped for instance and did not want the constant reminder of what happened to you it should be your choice. If you are not in a healthy state of mind or in a secure financial state to provide for a child then perhaps you should contemplate bringing an innocent life into your screwed up world. Whatever your opinion is on abortion, it is just that. Your opinion.
But sadly this weekend a 51 year old man by the name of Scott Roeder took upon himself to shot Doctor George Tiller who has been the center of the abortion controversy for years for his practice of performing late-term abortions, meaning if a woman was at the twenty-second week or further along. Doctor Tiller's clinic is located in Kansas which, as we all know is in the heart of the bible belt. Mid-West states are crazy with religion and evangelistic residences of the Mid-West have been after him for years. In 1986, his clinic was bombed. In 1991, it was blockaded for six weeks. In 1993, he was shot in both arms. In March, Kansas prosecutors tried him on charges of breaking an abortion law; he was acquitted. In May, vandals cut wires to security cameras and made holes in the roof of Tiller's clinic.
The most disturbing factor of this assassination is that Doctor Tiller was attending church on Sunday where he was working as an usher and his wife, Jeanne, was in the choir when he was gunned down at about 10 a.m. CHURCH people. He was at church! How fucked up of a person do you have to be to commit any act of violence in a church. This man was the father of four and a grandfather to ten. No matter what Mr. Roeder's view on abortion was he had no right to take away someones husband, father, grandfather and friend. This is the first assassination of an abortion doctor since Dr. Barnett Slepian was killed by a sniper at his home in Amherst, N.Y., in 1998.
My thoughts are with the Tiller family as they grieve this unforeseen tragedy.

.New Moon.

We are getting one step closer to the release of the next Twilight film, New Moon. If you have not read the series or at least seen the first movie then you are a big fat LOSER and should probably jump on the Twilight train ASAP! ;)

Check out the new trailer and yummy Jacob with no shirt!!!

Unfortunately, we all know that no movie is exactly like the book but I am sure that since Twilight was such a phenomenon that New Moon will be a much better directed and played out movie!!! AHHHH, I can not wait till November!
