.Corolla Wild Horse Tragedy.

So for as long as I can remember the Corolla Wild Horses have been apart of my life. My family has been involved with the Corolla Wild Horse Fund and when I was just a baby my family banded together and built a beach house down at the very end of Corova beach, just feet from the Virginia border. I have so many wonderful memories from that house and that beach. Of course now, just like every other part of the Outer Banks, Corova beach is slowing being built up by monstrosities houses.

When I would visit our beach house, nicknamed "The Hut" I would love waking up to the crazy rooster next door that did not just crow at dawn but ALL day long and then looking out the window and/or front door and seeing a horse or two. One summer, my grandfather was cutting the grass and felt a nudge/tap on his shoulder and assumed it was my grandmother and was astonished to turn around and see a wild horse standing there just saying Hey! These animals are amazing to me and as most of you may know I am not that big of a fan of horses anyways because they always tend to buck me off but for some reason these horses do not scare me at all. Anytime they see a camera it's like they stop what they are doing and pose so that you can get that perfect shot. There has never been a report of any Corolla Wild Horse attacking or harming any human or their property and so it brings me to the question, why would a human harm them?

The Corolla Wild Horses are not only endangered but are a treasured icon of the Corolla area of the Outer Banks. This Memorial Day Weekend some rich, prick asshole staying in Corova killed a beautiful stallion who went by the name Spec. He was featured in many of the posters and brochures for the Wild Horses. Sadly the asshole who killed this horse did not even have the guts to finish what they started. They hit his left hind leg and it was reported that it was hit with such force that it was snapped completely in two and the horse was euthanized at 2:30 p.m. on May 23rd. There were ATV tracks all around where the horse was originally seen on the beach at 6:43 a.m. It is possible that ATV’s were being used to chase the horse and then hit him. Residents reported hearing ATV’s tearing around at 1 and 2 a.m. With this information I can conclude that the people who hit this innocent creature were most likely WASTED and that is no excuse. I just can not fathom causing harm to any animal let alone hurting and then leaving it to suffer and die. This AMAZING horse drug himself up over the dunes over a mile from where he was first seen. I have no words to describe what the last few hours were like for Spec. He did not want to die and he fought and struggled long and hard, poor boy he must have been terrified! Back in 2007 someone shot one of the wild horses and there have been many, many other shootings and the shooter has never been found. Then in April of this year there was yet another hit and run where the horse was left to suffer. When the horse was found he was literally shaking from the effort of holding himself up...he knew if he went down he wouldn't be able to get back up again This is completely uncalled for. No animal should suffer needlessly.

FYI: Spec is the horse that is in the center of this picture.

If you have any information about these tragedies, there is a town meeting at the Corolla Firehouse at 5:30 PM today. Please CLICK HERE to join the fight in saving and protecting these beautiful creatures and if you are regular blogger, CLICK HERE to follow the Corolla Wild Horse Fund's blog.

.....FYI, I have been crying the whole time writing this not only cause I find this story so upsetting and repulsing but I am so pissed that some stupid tourist would do something so cruel. And then people wonder why the locals hate them so much when they come here...

.Myspace Bulletins Are ANNOYING.

Personally, when Tom created Myspace I do not think he intended the bulletin portion to be used the way it is. Now, I rarely use my Myspace because I think it's retarded and would rather use Facebook but I can not stand when people blast all their personal information through bulletins. I mean surveys are one thing, and making announcements about things is another but bashing and blasting people is just retarded.
For example, at the beginning of last summer a "friend" of mine posted all these bulletins about her boyfriend cheating on her and making sure everyone on Myspace knew how big a piece of shit he was and that she was definitely not going back to him and blah, blah, blah. Needless to say she made a huge ass out of herself when a week or so later she was back with the douche bag. See if she would have just kept her thoughts to herself she would not look like such an idiot.
Now, I do find it very entertaining when people post all their personal business on Myspace for everyone to know about but at the same time I think it's pretty immature and stupid, especially if you are the one in the wrong and it just makes you look like an ass. The best is all the people I am friends with that are younger than me and still in high school or just starting college, cause they are a hoot with their bitchy bulletins. But when you are friends with someone and you get into a stupid fight over something as small as, oh I don't know, you got fired and then you post stupid bulletins with personal information about your so called friend. You know that one day you and your friend will most likely make up but, personally, if I were that friend I would never forgive you for blasting my personal business on Myspace for everyone to read. It's just an immature way to handle a situation that should be dealt with more discretely.
OK, this was pretty much just me venting about how annoying Myspace bulletins are. Sorry, but I just had to do it :).

.What An Expierence.

This morning I had a doctors appointment and I got my last set of ultra sound pictures (see below). Right now, Lil' Man weighs 5lbs 13oz with a projected birth weight of 7lbs 5oz. Not too shabby.

Now this is supposedly a picture of his head that they gave me because they say you can see his hair!? I don't see it but.....
The story of this blog is not the actual appointment, but rather the waiting room experience. When I first arrived this morning there was a guy on the front porch who opened the door for me saying ladies first and I said thanks and went on about my business. After I came out from my ultra sound and was waiting to go back to see the doctor this same guy comes over and sits two chairs down from me. He proceeds to ask me if I am married. Now I do wear my ring that Quinn got me for our anniversary on my ring finger but my dumbass tells the guy no. He then gets comfortable and starts trying to make small talk with me about how he only knew his wife for two weeks before he proposed but only did it because she was Russian and that they have been married for six years but they are now getting a divorce. Just my luck today is busy at the doctors office and there is quite a crowd in the waiting room and so all the ladies sitting around me start giving me this weird look like, do you know him and if not how strange?! I am thinking to myself, I am getting ready to POP and you are blatantly hitting on me!!!! Then he gets up to walk outside and we hear what we in the waiting room concluded was him throwing up. WHAT.A. WACK.JOB!!!!
So then as my hunk-of-burning-love exits the waiting room in walks this crazy lady on her cell phone. Oh wait, I forgot, she's on SPEAKERPHONE! She tells the person she is talking to be quiet cause she is in the office but of course that does not happen so then she is freaking out trying to figure out how to turn the speakerphone off. Now granted this is not some serious business call that she could not cut short, this is a casual conversation with a friend about a damn casserole she made. She could have just said, hey let me call you back when I get out of the doctors office, but no. She then goes up to the counter and stands there waiting for the girls to slide open the glass and ask her what she wants. As she is standing there, still on the phone, she is telling the other end that she is standing there and everything that the girls are doing behind the glass. Like they can not hear you!? It's glass, not cement you idiot. Finally they ask what she wants and she says she is just picking something up but they tell her its not ready and to have a seat. OH NO! She goes and sits down, still on the phone, only now she is going off about how slack this doctors office is and blah, blah, blah. Just as she is going off to her friend on the phone the nurse comes out to get someone from the waiting room and the crazy lady jumps up and starts to attempt a conversation with the nurse. She tries to compliment her on her hair and the nurse gives that look like, first of all who are you and second off I have not done anything to my hair. She asks the nurse if package is here to be picked up and the nurse, looking dumbfounded tells her to ask the front desk. Well this just will not do because apparently the crazy lady is above waiting and gets all attitudy! Once again the crowded waiting room of women all start to exchange glances as if to say, wow look at this fuit loop over here! Finally they get her out of there.
The moral of the story is do not use your cell phone in a doctors office or any other kind of office that is crowded and supposed to be quiet. It is so rude and annoying. Texting and emailing from your phone is one thing but chatting it up is aggravating to those around you.

.Dog Fighting.

Everyone is giving poor little pit bulls bad raps these days and it's beginning to really aggravate me. First you have the lady whose two pit bulls killed the neighbors lab and had to be put down and now this! Like I do everyday at noon, I was watching the news today and heard a rather disturbing story right out of Gates County. Officials say that dogfighting is a growing problem in this area and they are doing everything they can to stop it! It's just too close to home.
The Gates County Sheriff found two dead dogs and four alive, but malnourished. These animals were being kept in small cages and were tied to heavy chains. They also seized 13 dogs under court order yesterday morning. Eleven pit bulls and two rottweilers, but the owner...no where to be found. A 15 pound chain was found on a 25 pound dog. The chain is used to make the dog's muscles stronger. To make matters worse the officers seized bottles of dog vitamins and steroids. Among other disturbing things confiscated from the crime scene include a goat horn that was used to pry open the locked jaws of two dogs and appears red due to dried blood also a wooden treadmill where the dogs would be placed with a dangling animal carcass in front of them and the dog would run on the mill to catch thus making them stronger and faster.
This morning the owner finally turned himself in and faces one felony count of Dogfighting, 13 misdemeanor counts of Animal Cruelty and three counts of Not Properly Disposing of Animal Carcases. When asked about the evidence found on his property he said he knew nothing about it! His bond is set $16,500, so I am pretty sure he is not going anywhere anytime soon, but STILL! Now let me explain to you the animal carcases part of his charges because this is the part the really pissed me off. This jackass had three burnt dog carcases in a bag that they found on his property that investigators are saying appears that the dogs who did not survive the fights were doused in gasoline and burnt!!!! Are you kidding me!?! How can you do that and sleep at night!?
The seized dogs are being kept at the Chowan County animal shelter and sadly many have scars, appear weak from malnutrition, and one appears to have a broken leg. Four of the dogs that were seized were considered aggressive and had to be euthanized. :(

Birthdays and Fights.

Ok so yes I am that ghetto that I steal my Internet from my neighbors, thus that explains the lack of entries lately. I finally got some signal and decided to give a howdy doody to my Internet friends. I have been so busy lately, you just don't even know. I feel like I never have a day off. Thankfully though I had off this past weekend to help my friend Ashley celebrate her 21st birthday. Wow, what an experience.

Saturday night we went out to Port o' Call and Chillis at midnight and on Sunday, her actual birthday, she had a nice little cook out shin dig at her parents house and then we proceeded to hit the bars up later. Well as we were drinking at her parents it dawned us that it was sunday and thus it was Rock and Bowl night so we got real stoked and headed there after Lucky 12. Let me just say that I have never been to Rock and Bowl and I had a BLAST. It was a giant Manteo High School reunion but it was OK because it was only people that I wanted to see.
But if I'm writing about it, then we call all conclude that it probably was bir all peaches-n-cream that night. At Lucky 12 my friend John and his fiance Maddy were there with some friends, we casually chatted and I said my goodbyes as I went out to get my car and bring it around front so everyone could get in but as I rounded the side of the building to reach the front all I see is a mobb of people being shoved out the door. Apparently some of the people I was with had beef with John and Maddy. Thinking it was all over and done with, we headed to the Bowling Alley. After being there for 20-30 min. in walks John and Maddy with their friends. Ok, whatever. They were at the other end of the place but every time they came anywhere near the people I was with my people proceeded to keep egging it on and talking shit. (Now when I say "my people" it is only for the purpose of the story, they really are not my people). You see, John's fiance is the manager of a local surf shop and a girl that was with us for Ashley's birthday apparently stole about $700 worth of stuff and for her jobs sake Maddy had to prosecute. To make an exteremly long story short a huge fight broke out and of course the wonderful cop force of the OBX show up and arrest people. My loud ass mouth almost got in trouble to for my infamous "Fuck the Police" remark. (Big shout out to Nags Head P.D.....I mean the wanna be NYPD). Opps, my bad. Haha ;). Well anyways everyone I was with got kicked out except for those of us that mingled and hid into the crowds so we didn't have to leave. It was a fun night but I must say that I was terribly embarrassed to be seen with the people involved or to claim that I knew them the rest of the night.

I tell you that story to tell you this. If you so choose to steal, do it a little less obviously. Do not take things from your work and then wear it to work where they will realize that you didn't buy it and how are you wearing it. Overall it was quite an experience I so choose not to go through again.

Chicken Biscuit DRAMA

Ok this morning I am already running a little late. It's my fault due to the excessive amount of times I hit snooze (from 7am to 9am). HAHA! I was not trying to wake up this morning. So my sister calls me as I am pulling up to get a soda from the machine at the Market Place telling me that at McDonalds if you order a large drink you get a free southern style chicken biscuit. My highass gets all excited and I dart over to McDonalds. I mean, I am all stoked for this biscuit, if you know what I am saying.

I go through the line and get to the final window and they hand me my large sweet tea and that's it. They just look at me as I continue to sit there and finally I say "Where is my biscuit?" the ghetto fabulous McDonalds lady tells me that when I order I have to ASK for the free biscuit, that they don't just GIVE it to you. I said, "Well, I am asking for my biscuit now!" and sure enough they would NOT give it to me. Needless to say I thought that was rude and uncalled for, don't advertise a free biscuit with the purchase of a large drink and then tell me I have to ask for the free food.

Whatever, I'm going to Henry's and getting a real biscuit and sweet tea, screw McDonalds. ;)

Don't Be Trashy, RECYCLE!

Growing up in Southern Shores (and all the northern beaches) we had two cans that went to the end of the drive way for trash pickup. One was for trash and the other for recycling and it seemed that pretty much the whole neighborhood recycled. Recycling had free pick up, too.

Now that I live in Kill Devil Hills, which has got to be the most densely populated by locals town on the Outer Banks, I have noticed that no one recycles. I just don’t understand why Kill Devil Hills cant recycle, let alone the whole County too. I mean in my house alone, the amount of cans and bottles we go through weekly is pretty large. Not only is Kill Devil Hills heavily populated with locals but it also has a great number of rental properties and as we all know the tourist come down here and party, thus resulting in even more cans and bottles that could be recycled.

Now apparently in Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head you can purchase recycling services for a fee of $7.45 for weekly pickup. Outer Banks Hauling has been picked to pick up the recycling based on the guaranteed of the low cost for three years and their willingness to tailor the program to local need. This is a wonderful way to get into the recycling program, but I just don't understand why we have to pay and Southern Shores does not. (There is also another company out there willing to pick up recyclables in Dare County, but you have to contact them for an exact quote on pick-up pricing)

So now the issue is getting every household including locals and tourists, not only in Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head but across Dare County, to sign up for the recycling program and we could really make a difference. This system could work out very well and should cause little, if any, hardships for the citizens. Not to mention that Dare County as a whole does a lot of construction and demolition all of which use recyclable materials. The majority of beach goers are drinking plastic bottled water or juices, canned soda or beer, and glass bottled sodas and beer, thus if every beach access had a recycling bin that right there is a huge difference in how much we waste as a community.

The Outer Banks is supposed to be this nice beach retreat and as a community we work hard year round to keep the beach clean and make sure that our Island stays beautiful for generations to come. But seeing that we are such a large vacation destination for a vast variety of individuals shouldn’t we want to make a large impression and start “Going Green.” The Brewing Station, for instance, is setting quite the example by being Americas First Wind Powered Brewpub with their 10KW Wind Turbine. And to be honest with you, that Wind Turbine has really gotten the Tourist a buzzing and we know they will go back to their hometowns and brag that they ate at the only wind powered pub in America. It may sound corny but if they get as excited as they do over a Brew-Thru then imagine their reaction to a “Green” restaurant on the OBX. ;)

I just wish the Outer Banks would want to be more of a trend setter and start "Going Green". recylcing is just one small step towards achieving that and we need everyone to pitch in. The sad thing is that most of Dare Counties residents are too lazy or too drunk to recycle (haha). So get up off your lazy asses people and cough up that $7.45/month and start recycling :)

Trip to Hell and Back.

Ok let me start by saying this is not a diss to the whole state of New Jersey....

...On Tuesday Me, Quinn, Caitlin and her boyfriend Brandon all headed to the airport in Portland to head home from Maine. They were flying US Airways and we were flying Continental. I will not fly that airline again. From Portland we were to fly to Newark then to Richmond and since we would be getting in so late, we were going to stay the night in Richmond and head home Wednesday morning. Sounds like a great plan....

Well of course our flight to Newark gets delayed because of the air traffic and that delay now makes us miss our flight to Richmond so we have the choice to stay in Portland or to fly on to Newark and stay there. Option 2 worked out better for me because I had to work at 4 in Duck. So we fly to Newark and we make an attempt to catch our original flight to Richmond and by the time we got from Terminal A to Terminal C we made it just in time to see the plane pulling away.

I was so pissed, you just don't understand.

The airline did not comp anything. No food, no hotel, no nothing and they were all rude. So on our way to the other side of the airport to where all the hotel shuttles are we encountered an older Asian couple also flying Continental saying that they were rude to them and didn't help them out at all either but that there was an African American passenger from their flight that received food vouchers. The Asian lady proceeded to ask the lady at the desk what was up with that and she said it was at the agents discretion to give out vouchers which then shows me that Newark airport was also a little racist cause there were only black airline agents that night and no one got any help.

So we finally ask if we can just get our luggage and go on to a hotel. Oh no, our luggage is in a "secured area" they said and that it was fine and that it would definitely make it to Richmond with us the following morning. Ok, whatever. Almost every hotel was completed booked except four, which was a price range of about $104 to $299 and then I found one for $82. Hell yeah I thought!! We are only staying for one night, it can't be that bad.

Oh it was THAT bad. We kept going to the straight up GHETTO. I mean, liquor stores on the corners with homies standing outside and strip clubs with what looks like drug dealers at the door and to top it all off I spotted my first real life HOOKER and she was NOT cute. We asked the shuttle driver to take us back to the airport. Now by this time it is midnight, me and Quinn are cranky and irritable and we finally find a hotel for $100 something but my AAA saved the day with a major discount. I had to take a shower and Quinn went to go get food--a turkey sandwich and a chicken salad one--they gave him turkey with chips and then a tiny little ketchup cup size thing of chicken salad and a six pack of bud for almost $50 (apparently they don't sell beer in gas stations....yankees are so wack, dude).

We wake up and go straight to the airport and everything is going smoothly. We get to Richmond and go to baggage claim. Yay, here comes Quinn's bag.....and that's it. They lost 3 of our 4 bags, one of which contains mine and Quinn's brand new North Face jackets (which if you know about North Face, were not cheap), my new stuffed animal made of Alpaca fur (which also was not cheap) and my anniversary ring. They said they would have our bags to us last night, then today by 2:30 and now we are at between 6PM and 12AM today. I swear, nothing better be missing cause they don't want to piss me off.

All in all, New Jersey, it's airport and mostly it's people did not impress me and I could live the rest of my life without returning.

Something Needs to be Said....

..about the recent things(PEOPLE) that have been annoying me. I know you must love my blogs about annoyances, so more or less this is what I have about it:

1. Paleness. It's summer now people, get out into the sun. You look NASTY pale. Everyone looks better with a tan. It makes you appear more slender and it helps clear up your busted face, which trust me needs all the help you can give it. If you don't have time to layout then please at least hit up the tanning bed, or better yet the spray tan. Think about it. Friends don't let friends be PALE :).

2. Bad fashion. Ok people are we looking in the mirror before we leave the house? I think NOT. For example, you don't wear a short tee shirt and jeans these days. Now sometimes this can look cute but I am talking about those who wear jeans that are not low cut and a shirt that looks like its shrunk and their tummy is showing, not pretty. Please shoot for the long torso shirts (unless you are short). It looks so much better and gives the illusion of a longer skinny torso, whereas the short gap like tee shirts you are currently sporting make your torso look short and stocky and not to mention the style that you are trying to pull off just down right looks haggard. Also in the fashion world, a few things that are OUT for example is "dress-up" jewelry. You know what I mean that gaudy plastic jewelry that comes in different colors. No bueno. Bad look. Shoot for some classier nicer jewelry than giant white, black, pink, or blue balls hanging from around your neck. There is line a white trash line that many people I see are straddling. It's not that hard to look cute and I definitely don't want to hear that you can't afford to look cute cause ever Target and Wal-Mart have cute shit. Oh and how could I have forgotten, things that are branded with your name or initials is way out of style. You know, like those ghetto fabulous ear rings and necklaces that were cool in the '90's that say your name in big gaudy gold?Yeah, those are so ugly and white trashy so you should probably put that in your jewelry box and forget that they are there. Also, shirts, pants, sweaters and especially purses that have a letter on them to signify your name is out. That was cool when I was in 10th grade, so you may want to chuck that too. So after you get that tan you need oh so desperately you can go home and clean out your closet of your 2004 Belk Spring/Summer line and update your fashion.

3. More bad fashion: What are people thinking when they step out of the house in a XXXL Tweety Bird shirt from 1989 with a god awful purse strapped across them? AHH I can not stand it I just want to go up to people dressed like that and ask what the fuck are they thinking? So not flattering and very much so embarrassing. And ofcourse, as always, socks with sandals are a big NO, NO!

4. Recycling. No not recycling plastics, paper and glass but recycling your friends sloppy seconds. This is just gross. Girls who date or fool around withtheir current or past friends exes' is just gross. I mean in a way it's like fucking your friend, I don't know about you but I am not really down with that. So instead of rummaging through your arch enemy or best friends left overs why don't you get up off your lazy booo-taayyyy and find your own man. Be a trend setter, not follower ;)

Thanks for taking the time to read my vent(rant) about nasty white trash. Check back in for the next installment of 'Annoyances'.

No Bueno--VENTING

I am feeling very agitated this morning. So many things are under my skin, it's not even funny. This is more of a venting blog so, if you are not at all interested in my rambling then don't read on...

Annoyance #1: Last night was Cinco De Mayo and everyone at work pretty much figured that we would slow since we did not have many reservations. Everything was going great till about 7:30 PM when the flood gates open and I got six (6) tables at once. WOW! Where did all these people come from!?! Haha. I am not complaining cause I made some good money but I was so so so tired. I did not leave Duck till 11 PM, I acquired a blister on the side of each of my feet that is the size of mars and my phone was dead so I could not get a hold of Quinn (though I called from work and got no answer, so I assumed he was asleep). I pull into my drive way at about 11:30 PM and no Quinn in site. He went out to Salt Waters and I would have met him there but he said he was coming home. I guess he lost track of time and didnt get home till after 2, but then, as always, people came home from the bar with him. I was pissed off and tired and completely freaked out. Whatever, its over and done with now but at that time, I was pretty pissy ;)

Annoyance #2: Though the gas crisis has not effected me too much as of yet, reading the news this morning only makes the problem more real to me and makes me realize that it's about to get a little serious here. Oil futures surpassed $121 a barrel, this is the first time in American history it has even been this much. It is predicted that oil prices could reach $150 to $200 a barrel over the next six months to two years, but that it could go even higher. This is just so unnecessary. If the big oil companies were not so greedy and obsessed with making more and more money, but yet were a little compassionate and realized that the American Economy is suffering because they keep jacking up the price of gas. They can afford not to charge so much. Being greedy is a deadly sin and I hope they all rot in hell.... :)

We are in a serious energy crisis people and you need to realize how serious it is getting. Everyone, please try to recycle and go green. We need to start conserving before it is too late.

Annoyance #3: Now we all know I am a HUGE animal rights person but I am terrified of horses. When I was younger I got bucked off at camp and said fuck it. Now I do however think that they are beautiful creatures and their eyes let you see into their soul, they are just not my cup of tea. I was watching the Kentucky Derby on Sunday at work and was so proud of Eight Belles when she crossed the finish line and won but that quickly turned to sadness when she collapsed with two broken ankles. I mean, I cried. I felt so bad for her. But she could have continued to live a life on a farm or something that did not revolve around racing. Instead of keeping her alive, her piece of shit owner put her down. After her Jockey beat her all around the track and pushed her too far, the only thanks she got for winning was being put down. I am sorry but that is so wrong. I remember Caitlin telling me one time when I was bitching about horse racing that they start training the horses and riding them before they are two (2) and that you are not suppose to do that cause they are not fully developed. Poor Eight Belles, she had a shitty life from the beginning and probably treated so badly. Thankfully my good friends,
PETA are stepping into save the day. They are trying to petition against thoroughbred horse racing and I completely support them. If you do to, please click here to sign the petition.

Annoyance #4: I really want to know what is going on with all these tornadoes and large storms that are hitting not only the United States but all over the world. The plane states are always getting hit, then last week Suffolk, VA got hit and this past weekend Myanmar was hit by an unbelievably damaging storm. 95 percent of the homes in Bogalay -- a city of 190,000 -- have been destroyed and the citizens of that area have little food and a small amount of eggs and rice. The area's rice has been destroyed, leaving Bogalay with a five-day supply. Water pumps are no ruined, and fuel is scarce. Based on a satellite map made available by the U.N., the storm's damage was concentrated over about a 30,000 square-kilometer area along the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Martaban coastlines, which is home to nearly a quarter of Myanmar's 57 million people. The death toll exceeds 22,000, thus making this storm worse than the Tsunami that hit the same region in late 2004.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said it had released $190,000 to help with the aftermath of the storm, the European Commission has pledged $3.1 million, Canada $2 million, China $1 million in aid including relief materials worth $500,000 and Thailand $100,000. Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in Myanmar has issued a "disaster declaration" in the country and authorized the release of $250,000 for cyclone relief efforts. This may seem like a lot of money, but it is not. This region of the world is going to need a lot of help and a lot of time to rebuild their lives. Any help is better than none, so if you are feeling frisky, please
click here to see what you can do in lieu of donations.

And now in Chili we have volcano's erupting. What is going on?? Is this the beginning of the end? Just putting it out there. Thank god my little Chiliean, Katie K. is OK! :)

FUR IS DEAD

Ok, when I was little I had my rabbit fur coat I was in love with till I actually realized how the coat was made. Even now I hate fur. I hate fur coats or fur boots (uggs do not count) or fur trimmed things. I just don't think it's really that cute.

I just watched the most disturbing video ever (and as I am writing this, I am still crying). Please watch this and understand how cruel the fur market is. If you wear real fur....STOP! If you must wear fur, please wear faux fur. Thank you and enjoy.
